Val-de-Vesle (922 inhabitants, Marne),
"Best village for biodiversity 2021"
Val-de-Vesle is a Champagne village which works for the land and functional preservation of the surroundings of its rivers and its exceptional wetland, the Courmelois marsh, whose management and animation are provided by the Conservatory of natural spaces of Champagne-Ardenne.
a Biodiversity Atlas communale carried out in 2017 with the League for the Protection of Birds made it possible to know in detail the local naturalist issues, which are translated by the adoption by the municipality of an action plan on_cc781905-5cde -3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_the green and blue network with the creation of a network of ponds, the planting of hedges and orchards of old varieties, but also raising awareness and education about nature. The elementary school of the village thus animates a " Educational Land Area ”, participatory management system for a small plot of natural space and support for the educational project over several years.
